In December 2015 I worked with film-maker Helen Selka and charity Peace Brigades International to interview Michel Forst, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of Human Rights Defenders.
According to the UN, “Human rights defenders promote and protect rights recognized in the main international instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They play a vital role in the respect of economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights.”
The UN Special Rapporteur has a mandate to protect, study and report to the UN about issues surrounding human rights defenders. More info here.
The interview was shot in Portcullis House (Houses of Parliament) and for this small shoot, I recorded the sound and operated the cameras (2 Canon 5d’s) and lighting. The film was edited by Mark Garvey.
